It has been a long winter, but the snow has disappeared and we are gearing up for another fun summer of lawn bowling! We will start with a Fun tournament and the Spring AGM on May 19, 2026. As outlined below, our drop-in bowling on Friday nights will continue, a great opportunity to introduce friends and family to the fun and fellowship of our sport and enjoy a summer evening outing. Our usual program of jitneys, singles and doubles leagues and tournaments will continue throughout the summer.
At the same time, the executive is actively looking for opportunities to introduce new members to lawn bowling and our club. You will see that we have updated our website and we are active on Facebook as ways to bring attention to the club. If you have any thoughts on how to reach out to the larger community, please let us know.

Lawn bowling has been played, in one form or another, for thousands of years, combining strategy, competition, sociability, and affordability, but mainly, a whole lot of fun. The bowls are weighted on one side, so they do not roll in a straight line, but in a curve. This makes the skill of bowling more challenging, as it relies on bowlers judging the distance, weight and aim. The objective of the game is to roll the bowls so that they stop as close as possible to a smaller ball called a “jack”. It’s a simple game to learn – and one that takes many years to master.
Looking for a way to make the most of a warm summer evening? Come and try lawn bowling on Friday nights at 7:30 pm ($10/person). Suitable for the young and old - all you need are comfortable flat shoes and your favourite refreshment. We supply the bowls and some instruction. You supply the fun and laughter.
