Bylaw, Policies, Procedures and Terms of Reference

The Deep River Lawn Bowling Club is a not-for-profit sport club incorporated in the Province of Ontario. The operations of the club are governed by a By-law under the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010. A copy of the By-law is provided as a link, here.

The club has established a set of Policies, Procedures and Terms of Reference to guide its day-to-day activities. The policies provide high-level guidance and are approved at a general meeting of the membership. The procedures are working documents that instruct members on how to conduct key functions such as opening the club in the spring, closing it in the fall, maintaining the green, etc. The club has also created a number of key positions for its activities, called coordinators. The coordinators are responsible for activities such as maintaining the green, providing upkeep of the clubhouse, organizing tournaments, etc. Each coordinator position has a terms of reference to set out its responsibilities. The procedures and terms of reference are maintained by approval of the DRLBC Executive. The Terms of Reference for DRLBC Executive positions as described in the By-law are included for completeness.
